The
primary role of the Student Support Worker is to provide support to
students of African descent and their families to help make schooling a
more positive experience,
which in turn helps students achieve success and remain in school.
African NS Support Worker: Baillee Oderkirk
The PREP Academy is a provincial non-profit community based organization that inspires and prepares African Nova Scotian high school students for college, university and beyond. Our programs and services help students and families access resources and information while receiving support navigating college and university processes.
Student Success Coach: Bryson Fitzpatrick
First Nations Support
Contributes to the support for Mi’kmaw and other Indigenous students to ensure academic achievement and a positive school experience.

We work together closely as a team to determine the best support for each student referred. Referrals may come from students and families themselves, our Teaching Support Team, Administration and/or other service providers. Adolescent Outreach Services
Our Adolescent Outreach Workers engage with youth in their own settings (primarily school-based); providing the early intervention services through group and one-on-one interventions; providing connection and/or a referral to other supports that youth may require. AOS is 100% confidential.

Schools Plus is a collaborative interagency approach supporting the whole child and their family with the school as the center of service delivery. Designed to help youth and their families connect with supports and resources in the community in order to access services to meet their needs.

School Safety Lead
Our School Safety Lead is present throughout the building and exterior of the school to support the prevention of inappropriate student behaviour, including violence. The School Safety Lead is primarily responsible to identify and intervene in student safety concerns while maintaining a high level of security within the school environment by monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic.

Youth Health Centre
Committed to empowering youth to promote, maintain or improve their own health through healthy lifestyle choices. Provides a safe place for students to turn for help and support, in an environment of respect and confidentiality.
Youth Health Centre Coordinators:
The purpose of a School Advisory Council (SAC) is to act as an advisory body to the school principal and to the Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education on a wide range of issues, including policies, curriculum and programs, school practices, student-support services, fund-raising, parent-school communication and school improvement.
